Re-opening 1st September

We are now closed for a two week annual holiday. Re-opening Monday 1st September at 11.30. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause to some customers.

Pie & Mash est. 1937

We’ve made, baked and served traditional Pie & Mash with liquor in Roman Road Market since 1937.

Made and baked in-store using only British meat.

We are one of the last Pie & Mash shops to produce and bake all of our pies within our in-house bakery.

Our Traditional minced beef pies use British beef which is delivered by our butcher as whole cuts from Smithfield Market. Our Chicken pies use only British Free Range chicken.

Our renowned mash is made from fresh Maris Piper potatoes, locally farmed in Essex. Our parsley liquor does not contain eel or colouring.

Our jellied eels and cooked eels come to us from our specialist fishmongers Barneys of Billingsgate.

Events & delivery

We regularly supply our traditional Pie & Mash for events, both large and small.

A popular choice for weddings, we are listed as a recommended caterer for the prestigious Clissold House, Hackney.

In the past we have also catered for local councils, housing associations, corporate events, charity events and private parties.

We also offer our shop to hire for private events.
